Joshua Dalsimer in Archive 200 Best

Joshua Dalsimer, a new Snyder & Co. photographer, has been chosen to be part of Archive's 200 Best Advertising Photographers 2008.
The image submitted is part of his Suits series, with crocheted bodysuits. Joshua did not actually crochet the suits himself though.

I think this look could be adapted for the fall...maybe in purple??

Ikea campaign catches my eye

Went to Sweden for my end of summer vacation and saw this campaign for Ikea, by Forsman Bodenfors in Gothenburg.
The copy reads "Long Live Variety" or something to that effect - when you get close you see that image is made up entirely of tiny objects (sold at Ikea presumably) in a multitude of colors.
I love this campaign - so simple and yet so arresting visually. Multiage, multiracial, multi-everything. It was plastered all over Stockholm when I was there. I kept thinking - how did they do that?

Sexy Subaru

So this is what the agencies have been spending their dough on!
We’ve all heard it – new media has taken over print and that is why print budgets are shrinking and electronic usage costs are way up (as they should be).
This funny “Sexy Subaru” picture was sent to me by Susanne, and I sent her my sexy shoot right back. Click here to see what I did, being particularly interested in the "kaboose" area. I love the audio also, your typical shoot soundtrack.

That sumo wrestler is kind of sexy, so I hope the people at Subaru are not making a fatty-joke on him. In that case I will turn my own Subaru in, and that would be a shame since it has Partial Zero Emission and I love it.

Stefan Anderson's Corcoran campaign

Our good friend and sometime Snyder & Co. photographer Stefan Anderson is on a billboard near you. Photo District News tells us this in an article about real estate firms promoting properties with upscale images:

"Corcoran subsequently worked with New York-based boutique agency DiNoto to create a second series with five ads from local photographer Stefan Anderson, which continued to feature people in their environments and broke in April. Anderson has a "very playful quality to his work" and Corcoran thought it would be nice to see a bit of that levity in its campaign, Lowris says. He also shot the third phase, which will launch this spring, in a similar style."

Stefan Anderson's ad campaign is beautiful, simple and shows off his knack for working with people in a relaxed way.
